ABOUT US
Korppret Standard Schnauzers is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dick and Judy Houskeeper have been involved with Standards since 1992 and before that, they had Miniature Schnauzers. After their Minis went over the rainbow bridge, they attended a dog show in Tulsa and saw a beautiful Standard male on the table being groomed for the show. It was “love at first sight” that started their love of the breed. It was also at that moment that began their showing, involvement with local and national clubs, and their own limited breeding program.

The Standard Schnauzer is an exciting animal to see, watch, and own but they are not for everyone. The Standards are a strong breed with stubborn streaks and are very athletic. SSCA (The Standard Schnauzer Club of America) have many venues for a person to have fun with their dog. Starting with Agility, Barn Hunt, Conformation, Dock Diving, Farm Dog, Fast Cat, Herding, Nose Work, Obedience, Tracking, and Therapy. The Standards have overall good health. The Standard is different like night and day when compared to the Miniature Schnauzer or even the Giant Schnauzer. It’s their size, adaptability, lifespan, trainability, health, and grooming needs.
Our breeding program goal is to maintain the Breed Standard of the SSCA abiding by their Code of Ethics and of AKC.
We breed dogs that have been evaluated by the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) for the hips, CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) for the eyes, thyroid tested, and DCM (Cardiomyopathy). Staying within the Breed Standard, when it comes to breeding, temperament is utmost in our thinking, then substance and coat.
We place our puppies with pet or show contracts. The pet quality contract will have limited registration and has a spay/neutering agreement attached. Puppies are occasionally available: Home-raised, never in a kennel.
Judy and Dick are active members of their Breed Club and served 18 years as Publications Chair. Judy has served on the Board of the SSCA and has helped with National Specialities. Dick and Judy are also the rescue coordinators for the State of Oklahoma.
In 2010, Dick & Judy were the recipients of the Ruth Inman Award at the National Specialty in Ventura, California. It was an honor to receive this prestigious award from the SSCA.
Club Affiliations: Mid Continent Kennel Club, Standard Schnauzer Club of America, and Prairieland Standard Schnauzer Club.
